Approximately 40 hours

Certification:
Successful completion results in a 3-year First Responder certification (digital certificate).


Course Description

This comprehensive First Responder course provides advanced first aid and CPR training for individuals who may be required to respond to medical emergencies in professional or volunteer roles.

Participants will learn and demonstrate the patient assessment model, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, hemorrhage control, and the management of a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions.

Training is delivered through dynamic, hands-on methods including:

  • Video and media presentations

  • Skills demonstrations and practice sessions

  • Group discussion

  • Realistic, scenario-based training drawn from real-life situations

This course is designed to build confidence, decision-making skills, and clinical readiness for first response situations.


Audience

This course is ideal for professionals working in:

  • Fire services

  • Rescue teams

  • Workplace emergency response teams

  • Sports medicine

  • Lifeguarding and aquatic facilities

  • Ski patrol and outdoor recreation


Prerequisites

  • None


Pre-Course Work (Mandatory)

Participants will be provided with required pre-course materials prior to the course start date.

  • Pre-work must be completed and submitted at least 2 days prior to the course start date

  • Completion of pre-work is required to participate in the in-class portion of the course

  • The pre-work is designed to support learning and build confidence during hands-on training

By registering and submitting payment, participants acknowledge and agree to:

  • Complete all required pre-course work

  • Adhere to all course policies and participation requirements


Course Completion Requirements

To successfully complete the course, participants must:

  • Attend and actively participate in 100% of the course

  • Successfully demonstrate all required practical skills

  • Achieve a minimum 75% on the written, closed-book knowledge evaluation

  • Successfully complete at least one evaluated practical scenario


Refund & Cancellation Policy

Due to instructor scheduling, equipment preparation, and course planning, the following cancellation policy applies:

  • No refunds for cancellations made within 5 days of the course start date

  • 50% refund for cancellations made 6–10 days prior to the course start date

  • For cancellations made more than 10 days prior, a minimum administrative fee will apply

All refunds are processed minus applicable administrative fees.
