A concussion is a head injury caused by a bump, blow or jolt to the head.
Concussion symptoms vary from person to person but can be more difficult to pick up in babies and children, just because they cannot tell you how they are feeling.
Symptoms may occur right away, in a few hours or weeks later, this is why it is a good idea to see your doctor if you suspect a concussion.
Signs include things like:
- loss of awareness
- balance issues
- vomiting
- personality changes
- irritability
The good news is, if properly treated, most people recover after two to three weeks.
