(Depending on course numbers, the location will be held in either Orangeville or Mulmur. Final location details will be confirmed prior to the course.)
Timing:
10 hr days
Duration:
80–120 hours (depending on course format and jurisdictional requirements)
Certification:
Successful completion results in a 3-year Emergency Medical Responder certification.
Course Description
Participants will learn and demonstrate all knowledge and skills required to provide appropriate patient assessment, interventions, and ongoing care, including the preparation and transport of a patient to the most appropriate healthcare facility.
Course content follows the National Occupational Competency Profiles (NOCP) as defined by the Paramedic Association of Canada and may vary slightly based on jurisdictional requirements.
Participants will be engaged through dynamic and practical training methods including:

Video and media presentations

Skills demonstrations and practice sessions

Group discussions
-
Realistic, scenario-based training drawn from real-life emergencies
This course is designed to build confidence, competence, and clinical judgment in high-pressure situations.
Audience
Professionals in emergency medical care who may be responsible for:

Initial patient assessment

Providing safe and prudent care
-
Coordinating and assisting with patient transport
Prerequisites
-
Current Standard First Aid with CPR Level C certification
Pre-Course Work (Mandatory)
Participants will be sent required pre-course work prior to the course start date.

Pre-work must be completed and submitted no later than 2 days prior to the course start date

Completion of the pre-work is mandatory to participate in the in-class portion of the course

The pre-work is designed to build confidence and prepare participants for hands-on learning

Course Completion Requirements
To successfully complete the course, participants must:

Attend and actively participate in 100% of the course

Successfully demonstrate all required practical skills

Achieve a minimum 75% on the written, closed-book knowledge evaluation

Successfully complete two evaluated scenarios:

One medical
-
One trauma
-
Refund & Cancellation Policy
Due to instructor scheduling, equipment preparation, and course planning, the following cancellation policy applies:

No refunds for cancellations made within 5 days of the course start date
-
50% refund for cancellations made 6–10 days prior to the course start date
-
For cancellations made more than 10 days prior, a minimum administrative fee will apply
All refunds are processed minus applicable administrative fees.
