Refund, Cancellation & Transfer Policy

We plan instructors, rooms, equipment and certification materials around every registration. This policy keeps cancellations, transfers and refunds clear and fair.

Quick version

  • Standard and youth courses: more than 5 business days' notice is required for a refund, less a 20% administration fee plus HST.
  • Professional responder and instructor courses: more than 10 business days' notice receives a refund less a 20% administration fee plus HST; 6–10 business days' notice receives a 50% refund.
  • Requests within 5 business days, late arrivals who cannot be admitted and no-shows are not eligible for a refund or transfer.
  • Online courses are final sale.
  • Transfers requested early enough are subject to availability and a $15 transfer fee plus HST.

Standard courses

This includes Intermediate First Aid, Basic First Aid, CPR & AED, BLS, recertification courses and similar public training.

  • Cancellations received more than 5 business days before the course start date are eligible for a refund less a 20% administration fee plus HST.
  • Cancellations received within 5 business days are not eligible for a refund or transfer.
  • No-shows and participants who arrive too late to meet course requirements are not eligible for a refund or transfer.

Professional responder and instructor courses

This includes First Responder, Emergency Medical Responder, bridge programs and instructor-development courses.

  • More than 10 business days before the course: refund less a 20% administration fee plus HST.
  • 6–10 business days before the course: 50% refund.
  • Within 5 business days: no refund or transfer.
  • No-shows are not eligible for a refund or transfer.

Youth courses

  • More than 5 business days before the course: refund less a 20% administration fee plus HST.
  • Within 5 business days: no refund or transfer.
  • No-shows are not eligible for a refund or transfer.

Transfers and rescheduling

  • Transfer requests must be made before the applicable no-transfer period and are subject to space and course availability.
  • An approved transfer carries a $15 transfer fee plus HST.
  • If the new course costs more, the difference is payable when the transfer is confirmed.
  • A registration may be transferred only once unless Rural Rescue Inc. agrees otherwise in writing.

Online courses

Online and self-paced course purchases are final sale once access has been issued. Access periods, completion deadlines and technical requirements are set by the course provider.

Private appointments and corporate bookings

Private training, car-seat appointments, mask fit testing, workplace sessions and corporate bookings are governed by the cancellation, deposit, minimum-participant and payment terms shown in the accepted quote, invoice or booking confirmation. Deposits and costs already committed to instructors, travel, materials, venue or custom preparation may be non-refundable.

Products, kits and refills

Returns for first aid kits, refills, PPE and physical products are governed by our Shipping & Returns Policy. Custom, branded and bulk-built orders may be final sale once approved or once production begins.

If Rural Rescue changes a course

We may cancel or reschedule a course because of low enrollment, severe weather, instructor availability or another circumstance outside our reasonable control. We will offer a transfer or, when the affected booking is the original course purchased and a suitable replacement cannot be arranged, a refund. We are not responsible for travel, accommodation, lost wages or other indirect costs.

How to request help

Email courses@ruralrescuetraining.com with your full name, course or appointment name and date, and order number. You can also call or text 705-606-0234. Requests are confirmed in writing, and approved refunds are returned to the original payment method.

Nothing in this policy limits rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
